“Neurophytes 2.0“:
Supporting Long-Term Academic Engagement of Undergraduate and Graduate Neuroscientists Studying HIV
NeuroHIV, the collection of neurological impairments associated with chronic HIV-1 Infection, affects up to 60% of adults living with HIV worldwide. Symptoms vary from patient to patient, including behavioral, psychological, and immunological impairments that impact long term health outcomes.
As research into NeuroHIV expands, supporting highly motivated early-career research trainees at the undergraduate and graduate levels is important to maintaining an innovative academic workforce. The goal of this program is to provide mentorship, research skills training, and support to retain NeuroHIV researchers in the training pipeline long-term.
